He is definitely a skilled politician. And that probably is why Time magazine made him person of the year in 2007.
He is sharper than our crooks and oil lobby cronies. Putin tried letting oil and gas privatize but they immediately started stealing everything so he nationalized these national assets in a sensible way. now they are in high cotton and selling it and expanding. Putin is way smarter than his predecessors. We should take another look at Putin's strategies and successes.
