It’s unlikely that he’s an economic communist – he supported the reforms to the Russian economy. However, he does support the USSR idea of one party rule, with him as the leader for life.
Once KGB, always KGB.
No, he’s a ultranationalist who wants to be President forever. He has no delusions that returning to a communist economic system will help Russia become a world player again.
The soviet governmentwhat do you think fricken rocket science.
No, he is a neocom.
if it looks, walks, and quacks like a duck, why would anyone think it was a giraffe? of course he’s a communist.
What do you mean by communist.
If you’re talking about someone who follows the teachings of Marx- putting the state in total command of the economy – then NO he is not a communist.
However, if your asking about whether he’s a ruthless dictator then YES. He has centralised most power into his hands….
In this way – having a strong nasty leader – putins russia may look a lot like communist russia, but that wasn’t what made the old russia (the USSR) communist…
KGB and Marxist-Leninist.
Communism is a economic ideology.
The same sort of power.
He’s a nationalist and a capitalist. Maybe even a statist. Yeah, I’d go with statist.
no , he is much worse than a communist ….
Bush is more of a communist, according to the textbook definition, than Putin.
Is the Pope a Catholic
yes he is a commy and no doubt the ussr will be back
Yes, Vladimir Putin will attempt a new coalition, but this time the players may be more wide spread than the old eastern bloc USSR. Country’s such as Iran, Syria, Pakistan ?, Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Cuba, these are all potential possibilities.
The old regime would fight like hell to avoid being under Putin’s thumb because they have learned the evil of Russia’s way. The newbie’s are too stupid to learn from history and what it’s like to be under Russia’s thumb. Live and Learn !
Putin is attempting to revive the evil legacy of Joseph Stalin, the most hated man, besides Hitler, of the twentieth century. This is pretty clear evidence that his intentions are to bring back Stalin’s style of government.
He’s a ‘communist’ when it suits him!
Actually I would describe him more as an opportunistic fascist capitalistic communist and he’s not the only one in the ‘new’ Russia.
Lenin would be turning in his grave!
The russian people overwhelmingly support him and no he does not communist economy would help russia compete.
